ACOLYTE CARES AND GREATER BERGEN COMMUNITY ACTION

HELPING TO LIGHT THE WAY TO A BETTER TOMORROW IN BERGEN COUNTY

Global LED lighting manufacturer Acolyte Industries has created a new philanthropic foundation, Acolyte Cares, to improve the futures of those in communities surrounding the company’s production facility in Bergen County, New Jersey. Efforts are being coordinated and administered through Greater Bergen Community Action (GBCA).

Acolyte’s CEO and Founder, JR Guerrieri, was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. “There is no question that the partnerships we have developed in the communities throughout Bergen County have contributed in a large way to the success of Acolyte Industries here,” said Guerrieri. He added, We’ve built this company on the excellence of the local workforce, who help us deliver the highest level of quality, innovation, and customer service every day and employees who genuinely care!”

“Now we have an opportunity to continue those qualities for which we are known beyond our walls—sharing our success, not as a handout, but in a way, that will be multiplied many times over when individuals, groups, and entire communities use it in their growth toward a brighter future,” stated Guerrieri.

Acolyte Cares will work closely with GBCA, Bergen County’s designated anti-poverty agency, to explore and administer the most effective uses of the fund, ensuring that they achieve the mission of the new foundation.

The initial project for Acolyte Cares that already is having an impact in the community is the partial renovation of a men’s sober living facility in Teaneck, NJ, which is run by GBCA.

Acolyte Cares Provides Scholarships to Garfield High School Students

A second project for Acolyte Cares was scholarships given to two selected graduates of Garfield High School in 2016. The recipients of the scholarships are both residents of Garfield. Le Hua Wu and Juleisy Gomez are now both attending Rutgers University, New Brunswick Campus.
