Oakland’s majestic 16th Street Station (also known as Oakland Central Station) opened in 1912 and for decades served as Oakland’s main train station before it was revived as a breath-taking dramatic space available for arts and events. There, West Edge Opera, in collaboration with CS Lighting, used SFK Fixtures from Acolyte to illuminate their production of Lulu, the second and final opera by Vienna-born composer Alban Berg (1885-1935). Lulu is considered one of the masterpieces of 20th-century composition.
