Reporting to the President, the VP of Operations will be responsible for the company’s distribution, supply chain and manufacturing operations.
GENLED Brands™ is the parent company of two divisions, GENLED Acolyte®, the producer of premium LED architectural lighting systems, and GENLED AgiLight®, the producer of premium LED signage lighting systems.

Lead product distribution, supply chain, sourcing, logistics and manufacturing (light fabrication and assembly) operations for the company.
Develop and implement plans for warehousing and logistics designed to accommodate the growth objectives of GENLED Brands™.
Apply processes and modern technology solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiencies of all operational activities.
Be a strategic partner to the President and other functional leaders to drive value creation consistent with the company’s growth strategies.
Supervise and lead employees within the distribution, supply chain and manufacturing teams; ensure workforce is able to deliver against long-term strategy and ambitions.
Lead the effort to drive a continuous-improvement culture in operations across the company.
Ensure the company has a highly capable operations team through the ongoing attraction, training and development of staff.
Create and imbed an HSE-focused culture via robust processes and management systems. Ensure operational compliance with state, local and federal occupational regulatory bodies.
Develop/manage inventory levels to ensure that they are in line with customer and company expectations.
Lead the supply chain effort to drive material cost improvements.
Develop processes which enable GENLED Brands to meet customer expectations [OTIF], minimize operating costs (including transportation, effective asset utilization), to reduce working capital and to maintain/gain competitive advantage.
Oversee in- and out-bound transportation functions; negotiate all common carrier and third-party logistics contracts to ensure best service and lowest costs.
Manage relationships with international ocean freight carriers.
Drive improvements and accountability in the operations group by developing, monitoring and reporting KPIs; assure that adequate systems are in place to provide meaningful and timely data for measurement against KPIs.
Establish, standardize and publish relevant performance metrics to the business on a regular basis. Derive meaningful actions from such to improve the ability of the business to execute our strategy successfully.
Oversee all facilities maintenance.
Advise the CEO and other functional leaders regarding operating improvements identified through financial data or other means.
Serve as chief spokesperson internally and externally regarding the operations strategy and execution; communicate proactively and effectively within the organization.
Participate in the diligence on and integration of acquisitions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
10+ years in a distribution and/or manufacturing function, including at least five years of executive-level operations leadership with responsibility for an entire organization or large business unit within a company.
Strong knowledge of demand management, inventory planning, capacity planning and SOP process.
History of work with contract manufacturers.
Knowledge of quality parameters, critical control points and international standards (ISO, HAACP, GFSI, etc.).
Strong process orientation with a demonstrated ability to drive improvement using technology.
LEAN manufacturing history (preferred).
High-level financial and business acumen with C-Suite reporting familiarity.
Demonstrated problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities.
Private equity investor relations a plus.
Industrial sector history a plus.
Knowledge of ERP, inventory management and manufacturing systems. Great Plains experience a plus.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
High emotional intelligence; ability to understand and influence others.
Ability and inclination to work collaboratively across functions.
Ability to see big picture while keeping appropriate oversight on details.
